Seems like everyone’s starting a newsletter these days.
Well, I didn’t want to be left out. Today I’m glad to announce 3 Things, a pseudo-daily newsletter delivered right to your inbox.
What’s the big idea?
I think that there’s an ideal number of things that a busy person can enjoy digesting on a regular basis in email form.
This number is somewhere between 1 (too much of a gamble) and many (too many).
I’m betting three should hit the sweet spot.
Chances are you’ll like at least one of the things. Maybe all of them. But you won’t be overwhelmed by having to choose which of a hundred possible things you want to spend your precious spare time on.
What will be in it?
To start with: interesting links — but also sometimes pictures, music, poetry, original writing and other miscellany. The only guarantee I give is that there will be 3 things. I’ll keep it fun.
What does it cost?
Nothing. It’s free.
Why a newsletter?
I really enjoy writing for this site. But I think there’s a degree of connection, dialogue and exclusivity inherent to a newsletter that makes it more than just a blog that goes to your email. I’ve always had a soft spot for the medium, and I feel I’ve made it to a place where I have the stamina, practice and experience to put out something I’m proud of.
How do I sign up?
Go to https://tinyletter.com/3things, where you can also see some past issues of the newsletter which I’ve made public.
Why don’t you x?
I’m interested in your feedback (that’s part of the idea, after all!) and your comments, suggestions or tips will be gratefully received at
