Block unwanted callers in iOS 7

I’d say about 20% of the phone calls I receive are ones that I’d rather not. It’s gotten to the point where, if I don’t recognize the number, I almost always let it go to voicemail. Whenever I get a call from a new telemarketer, I add it to a contact I’ve called “Do Not Answer”.

One of the new features in iOS 7 that I’ve gotten the most benefit out of is the new ability to block callers completely.

When you add a number to the “blocked” list, when they call, message or FaceTime, you don’t see anything.

If you want to add numbers to the list, you can go to Settings > Phone > Blocked. You can also add contacts: almost the first thing I did when I installed iOS 7 was to add my “Do Not Answer” contact to the blocked list. This is one of the most intensely satisfying things I’ve ever done.

Just scroll to the bottom of the contact’s profile and you’ll see the option to block/unblock them.
